Tree Planting Program

I am giving all the revenue earned from the streaming of "Changing" and a substantial additional Donation to help fund the planting of Trees in Uganda.

All Funds raised will go to www.OneTreePlanted.org an amazing NGO who focus on funding tree planting programs all over the world.   I have chosen to support a tree planting program in Uganda, aiming to restore and conserve native forest areas in the Albertine Rift of Uganda.

Planting Trees For Chimpanzees

OneTreePlanted.org has partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute to deliver this project.

The objective is to restore and conserve nature for biodiversity while also supporting local communities. The trees will be planted in the Albertine Rift forests of Uganda, close to where Dr. Jane Goodall began her extraordinary career and fell in love with chimpanzees - our closest wildlife relatives.

Donations will go towards planting 3 million trees as part of a broad long-term and large-scale initiative that will connect forests for wildlife, establish tree nurseries, strengthen forest monitoring and law enforcement to prevent future deforestation, promote agroforestry practices that integrate trees into farming systems, and much more.

The Albertine Rift is acknowledged as a major centre of bio-diversity. It ranks first out of the 119 distinct terrestrial eco-regions of continental Africa in terms of endemic species of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians, and second in terms of globally threatened species.

The Jane Goodall Institute proposes rehabilitation of the land to be achieved by the planting of mixed local native trees to create conservation forests. Additionally, the restored community forests will be buffered by a combination of community agroforestry woodlots, and plantation of selected fast-growing timber/fuelwood species to ensure sustainability, provide alternatives to fuel/wood needs, and ultimately provide significant socio-economic, as well as ecological and cultural benefits.
